Chief Executive Review

Once again, we have had a brilliant record-breaking year with 4,273 children taking part in our projects here at the Trust.

We did manage to dodge the challenging weather patterns of the summer and with Covid seemingly a distant memory I feel our children are settling back into their normal routines which can only be good news.

This year in my report I would really like to show our appreciation for our volunteers. Without our wonderful team of 55 volunteers, it would be a very difficult proposition to deliver what we do. Their dedication and enthusiasm is remarkable and we count ourselves very lucky to have them. Our front cover is a tribute to them all although sadly we don’t have room to show everyone.

Fundraising has been a particular challenge but again the support of our friends and funders has been very encouraging. I would like to add a special thanks to Fran Ebling, the Captain of Radcliffe on Trent Golf Club for nominating us as his charity of the year and for the brilliant, sponsored cycle of 76 miles to help raise funds. I am proud to have been a part of that, but wow, I was saddle sore by the end!

Our ambitious plans to re-develop the pavilion at Knipton continue to progress and it is a vital part of our continued growth as we plan to expand the work we do and influence more and more children into taking better lifestyle choices and to enjoy their sport and our wonderful countryside which is, of course, what we are all about.

2024 is on the horizon as I write this, and we are excited to see what more we can do.
