The summer camp provides a safe and fun environment for children to take part in sport and countryside activities during the summer holidays.
The Coronavirus pandemic has shown the urgent need for a renewed focus on sport and time spent outdoors. Research by the Youth Sport Trust found that 69% of children are now less physically active, while 68% of children surveyed by BBC Children in Need said they believed that young people’s mental health in general has got worse as a result of the pandemic.
2022 Outcomes
- 8 days took place during the summer holiday with 48 hours of coaching
- 99 children attended the scheme
- 41 girls, children with special needs and from ethnic minority backgrounds attended
- 15 hours of volunteer time were given towards the scheme
