The Belvoir Bees project sees the Trust and it volunteer coaches work with cricket clubs to develop and sustain their junior sections.
One of our success stories has been our partnership with Melton Mowbray CC which just six years ago only had two struggling senior sides and no juniors at all.
We trained their club members to become coaches, took assemblies in local schools and started up a kwik cricket training night for boys and girls aged six to 11.
At the first session we had 12 volunteer coaches and only eight children but by working together numbers grew and word spread of the fun we were having.
The Trust was the catalyst and today the club is flying because it was willing to invest in its future. It now has three competitive senior sides, two kwik cricket teams and teams at U11, U13 and U15 level and a girls’ team.
Five of our initial intake are now playing senior cricket and a number of current junior players are playing at county level.
