Belvoir Castle were able to provide a range of activities for our school visits in 2014.
The Trust are indebted to our volunteers and the Belvoir Castle Estate staff for making these activities happen.
Details of the 2015 programme will be posted here shortly.
Our activities included:
- Meeting the Gamekeeper and learning about the animals and wildlife on the Belvoir Estate.
- Meeting the Farmer and learning about the types of crops and what those crops can be made into.
- Meet the fisherman and learn about the ecology of the lakes here at Belvoir
- A demonstration and lecture on how cricket bats are made following the planting of cricket bat willow on the estate at Belvoir
- Demonstrations from the working dogs on the estate – labradors, retrievers and spaniels and how they interact with their owners.Demonstrations of the Birds of Prey trained at Belvoir Castle.
- The opportunity to have a go at Orienteering.
- The chance to see and meet the hounds from the famous ‘Belvoir Hunt’
